GFI FAXmaker – Network Fax Server Software for Exchange/SMTP/Lotus

GFI FAXmakerTM is a fax server that makes sending and receiving faxes an efficient, simple and cheaper process. With thousands of customers and numerous awards, GFI FAXmaker is a well-established network fax server software solution. It gives you reliability and enterprise functionality at highly competitive pricing.

Overview

Reduce costs with GFI’s fax server

With thousands of customers and numerous awards, GFI FaxMaker™ is a leading network fax server software solution for small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs). It makes sending and receiving faxes an efficient, simple and cost-effective process and solves the problems associated with manual faxing: printing out the document, walking to the fax machine and waiting for the fax to go through, not to mention the cost of fax machine supplies and repair.

GFI FaxMaker allows users to send and receive faxes directly from their email client and it saves each fax digitally for easier filing and finding. It gives you reliability and enterprise functionality at highly competitive pricing. You'll spend less time sending, collecting and distributing faxes, and make significant savings too.

Features

Active directory integration reduces administration

GFI FaxMaker™ for Exchange/SMTP/Lotus was designed from the ground up to minimize administration. It integrates with Active Directory eliminating the need for a separate fax user database. User-related settings can be applied to Windows users or groups directly.

Supports Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino and other SMTP servers

GFI FaxMaker integrates with Exchange Server 2000/2003/2007/2010 via a standard Exchange SMTP connector.

There are no schema updates to Active Directory

This makes GFI FaxMaker scalable and indifferent to new Exchange service packs and versions. Microsoft Exchange 5.5 is supported simply by creating a routing rule on the Exchange 5.5 SMTP connector. GFI FaxMaker can be installed on the Exchange server or on a separate machine, in which case no software has to be installed on the Exchange server itself. GFI FaxMaker also integrates with Lotus Domino and other popular SMTP servers.

Fax over IP (FOIP) support

With the optional Brooktrout SR140 host based module or TE-SYSTEMS' XCAPI, GFI FaxMaker integrates with your existing IP PBX to offer Fax over IP (FOIP) without any additional hardware requirements.

With FOIP you can easily send faxes over the Internet, integrating with the existing IP infrastructure. GFI FaxMaker's FOIP may also be used to implement Least Cost Routing (LCR), resulting in a cost-effective reduction in international calls dialed (calls are translated into a local call at the recipient's country).

New! Integration with XCAPI and support for Dialogic SDK v 6.3

GFI FaxMaker 2011 integrates with the XCAPI Fax over IP solution.

With every license of GFI FaxMaker that is purchased, one free channel of XCAPI FoIP will be provided for a duration of One year, after which the customer can either purchase a license or stop using it. Moreover, GFI FaxMaker 2011 now supports Dialogic SDK version 6.3, which has now introduced a lighter and cheaper version of the SR140 Fax over IP solution. In addition, as part of the 6.3 SDK release, customers can evaluate the SR140 and SR140-L without requiring a demo license. Customers can also choose to upgrade from the SR140-L to the SR140.

Automated fax delivery/inbound fax routing

GFI FaxMaker can automatically route incoming faxes to the user's mailbox or to a particular printer based on a DID/DDI/DTMF number or on the line on which the fax was received. Faxes can also be forwarded to a public folder or assigned to a network printer per installed fax port.

Robust & scalable multi-line fax server

GFI FaxMaker includes a scalable and robust fax server. For small installations, fax modems can be used, while more demanding organizations can make use of fax boards or active ISDN cards. GFI FaxMaker also supports the use of the Windows XP/2003 fax drivers for wider hardware support.

GFI MailArchiver – Exchange Server Email Archiving, Management and Compliance

GFI MailArchiverTM is an email archiving and management solution that addresses storage issues; allows access to archived email at any time and facilitates compliance/eDiscovery requests. It is a leading email archiving solution for SMEs available at highly competitive pricing.

Overview

Email archiving software for small and medium-size businesses.

GFI MailArchiver™ is an email archiving software that solves your email management problems on Exchange Server. With thousands of customers, it is a leading email archiving solution for small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs). GFI MailArchiver is used by administrators all over the world to maintain an archive of all corporate email correspondence, significantly reduce the demands on the Exchange server, manage and reduce the company’s dependency on PST files and also to meet a growing number of regulations on compliance, eDiscovery and other legislation. GFI MailArchiver stores all your organization’s email in a central location that is easily accessible in three ways: through a folder in your users' Outlook email client (including Outlook 2010), by using a web browser or from supported mobile devices. It integrates closely with Outlook in a first-in-its-class manner, avoiding the use of stub files which other products use.

Features

Tight integration with exchange

GFI MailArchiver leverages the journaling feature of Exchange Server, providing unparalleled scalability and reliability.

Other email archiving solutions actually replace the email with a link to their database, creating a single point of failure that can bring down your entire email system; GFI MailArchiver works in parallel, making no change to the way Exchange works. GFI MailArchiver can be used with Exchange as well as other email servers and can poll email from any mail server which supports IMAP and Active Directory.

Automatically archive email into one central storage

Your mail server is not the ideal place to store all organizational email!

Over time it will cause a severe decline in email performance. Moving old emails into a database will keep your mail server performance high and email stores compact. Moreover, with GFI MailArchiver there is no need to create and roll over to new archive stores based on SQL Express and NTFS. The automatic archive management feature ensures that data rolls over to a new archive automatically at a time defined by the administrator.

GFI MailArchiver scales according to your needs: use SQL Express plus NTFS if you are a small to medium organization; using SQL Express has the advantage of saving on SQL Server licensing costs. Large organisations can opt to store the archive in SQL Server.

Reduce email storage requirements

Storing email in a database is more efficient than storing email in a PST file.

GFI MailArchiver gives you even more savings by compressing (and decompressing) attachments on the fly, which makes better use of your storage resources as compared to storing attachments in the Exchange stores. GFI MailArchiver also archives only one copy of attachments sent to multiple recipients.

Unlimited mailbox

Administrators are no longer forced to compromise between mailbox size quotas and Exchange performance.

With GFI MailArchiver, users benefit from a near ‘unlimited’ mailbox – with easy access to their email at all times – because the software archives email in an SQL database and not on Exchange. With fewer storage demands, a smaller Exchange store and no stub files left on the server, administrators will notice a marked increase in performance.

Give viewing rights and exempt users from archiving

GFI MailArchiver allows you to grant a user viewing rights to all email relating to a specific active directory group; for example, the sales manager can view all email sent or received by his or her team.

Also, if required, you can instruct GFI MailArchiver not to archive email to and from particular users; for instance, it is possible to not archive the email of the IT group.

Access archived emails from anywhere

GFI MailArchiver allows users to access their archived email from anywhere in the world, using a browser. Email that had been deleted may also be seen (and restored).

Advanced Email search and 'saved search' capabilities

Having a central store of email enables users to easily search through their past email and attachments (Microsoft Word, Excel, PDF, ZIP and many other formats).

Once a search has been defined, the user can save the search criteria for easy reference at a later date, similar to Microsoft Outlook search folders. For example, you may save a search that displays all email correspondence with client X. GFI MailArchiver features a fast search option which includes exclusion parameters like ‘and’, ‘or’ and others, thereby enabling users to perform more targeted searches.

GFI Backup – Easy-to-use business backup software with effortless restore

Easy-to-use backup software with effortless restore. Provides fuss-free centralized backup with point-and-click web-based management for backing up entire networks and restoring from any location.

Overview

Easy-to-use backup software with effortless restore
GFI BackUp™ is a backup and data recovery software solution for your network environment, be it physical or virtual.

Use GFI Software’s backup solution to apply your backup and disaster recovery strategy by taking disk image/bare-metal snapshots of your workstations/servers, with ability to restore to different hardware or virtual machines. Or take a snapshot of your entire virtualized environment host system. Or create policies across your network applicable at the file and folder level, encompassing your Microsoft SQL servers – and more. The choice is yours – based on your own specific needs.

GFI BackUp comes in three flavors:

Professional

For small office/home office (SoHo) environments that require protection for workstations.

Network

For businesses that require centralized management for more advanced disaster recovery methods.

Freeware

For use in personal, home and non-commercial environments, to safeguard important data.

Features

Data backup and synchronization
GFI BackUp’s innovative combination of company-wide data backup with synchronization via the user agent provides:
  • Traditional file backup and restore of data contained on servers and workstations
  • backup of files located on servers and workstations which meet a specific group set (e.g., financial files, productivity files, images and designs)
  • Synchronization of files or folders across several workstations, servers and laptops
  • Synchronization of files between backup servers, enabling the creation of redundant backups
Backup storage options

GFI BackUp enables you to perform backups to multiple devices, among others, internal/external hard disks, NAS devices, CD/DVD/Blu-Ray media, memory sticks and removable flash memory devices (USB drive, memory sticks, etc).

GFI BackUp enables you to perform backups to multiple devices, among others, internal/external hard disks, NAS devices, CD/DVD/Blu-Ray media, memory sticks and removable flash memory devices (USB drive, memory sticks, etc). GFI BackUp also supports backup tasks on LAN paths and FTP uploads with auto-resume.

Full or item-level restore options

GFI BackUp allows you to make a full restore of backup data or to select a set of individual folders and/or files. GFI BackUp allows you to perform a restore to a location of your choice, rather than forcing you to restore your data to its original location.

Web-based administration console

GFI BackUp has an easy-to-use web-based Administration Console to configure and manage all your backup tasks.

The Administration Console can be accessed from anywhere in the network using your web browser. The administrator can also access the Administration Console from outside the local network (default on port http:5580 https:5543). Unlike most other backup products, it does not require a VPN connection. The Administration Console allows you to create, assign, manage, delete, analyze and run restore backup operations remotely.

Incremental, differential and other backup types

GFI BackUp can either be configured to back up only new and changed files (incremental), or to delete those files from the current backup that no longer exist in the source location (differential).

GFI BackUp also provides a version control mechanism (Stack backup) that allows you to keep multiple versions of a file in the archives.

Encryption

GFI BackUp uses military-strength 256-bit AES encryption to protect backed-up data privacy.

AES encryption has been adopted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology as an FIPS-approved (Federal Information Processing Standard) symmetric encryption algorithm that should be used by US Government organizations (and others) to protect sensitive information.

Backup compression

Unlike traditional solutions, when performing data (file and folder based) backups, GFI BackUp does not lock you in by using a proprietary backup compression format; instead, GFI BackUp uses the standard Zip-64 file format when instructed to compress an archive.

This means that data stored this way can be restored manually from the backup even if GFI BackUp is not installed. You can choose to create self-extracting archives as well as backups without compression for faster processing and redundancy. If using Zip compression, GFI BackUp can split and span the archive over multiple hard-drives.

The CA ARCserve® Backup - More than Basic Backup

The CA ARCserve® Backup: More than Basic Backup

CA ARCserve Backup delivers industry-leading, enterprise-class data protection for a wide range of operating environments

Overview

With extensive management features that work together to help reduce the time you spend managing your backups, CA ARCserve Backup provides “enterprise-class” functionality that is optimized to support your IT architecture, including virtual and cloud-based technologies, no matter how simple or complex your data or your IT infrastructure is. CA ARCserve Backup helps you quickly prepare for, respond to and recover from the disasters and disruptions that would otherwise threaten the integrity and reliability of your business operations.

    Benefits to your business:
  • Data deduplication to reduce your backup storage by up to 95 percent.
  • Integrated cloud storage for backup retention, providing an additional disaster recovery location.
  • Infrastructure Visualization with Storage Resource Manager (SRM) reporting to proactively avoid problems.
  • Data protection for both physical and virtual servers in a single money-saving tool.

Features

Integrated Cloud Storage

Easily take advantage of cloud services as part of a disk-to-disk-to-cloud (D2D2C) backup policy for remote, off-site protection, archiving or additional storage capacity. It enables the flexibility of cloud services for your data protection and helps you to take advantage of operational budget instead of capital budget for your storage needs.

Synthetic Full Backups

Reduce recovery time and complexity by providing a “full” backup picture to recover from, eliminating the tedious process of restoring multiple backups to recover to a specific point in time. This is important because it results in less downtime, a more reliable recovery process and reduced IT resource time.

Archiving

Reduce backup windows, network traffic and storage management costs by archiving data to disk, tape or the cloud. This is important to manage the growing volumes of data while reducing the drain on your physical resources, prolonging your infrastructure investment.

Integration with CA ARCserve D2D

Reduce risk and improve recovery times by using a combination of snapshot-based backups (CA ARCserve D2D) and traditional file-based backups (CA ARCserve Backup) to protect your servers. Quick recovery with the most efficient methodology, based on the type of outage, results in reduced downtime costs, increased employee productivity and more time for IT personnel to pursue strategic projects.

Integrated Data Deduplication

Improve the economics of backup and recovery by enabling longer retention periods. In this way, you can provide a cost-effective means of reducing storage, protecting critical data and integrating, configuring and managing data deduplication in the existing backup environment.

Protection of Virtualized Servers

Incorporate sophisticated backup and recovery functionality into VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V and Citrix XenServer virtualization technologies, easing management and mitigating the risk of data on virtualized servers.

A Dashboard with Storage Resource Manager (SRM) Reporting

Proactively avoid downtime with graphical insight into your backup environment to monitor the status of all backup activities, find the nodes that are taking the longest, locate backed-up data, discover whether data is encrypted and ready for disaster recovery and track volume, disk and memory usage on each of your Production servers.

Centralized Management and Administration

Reduce management time and help to provide faster responses by enabling IT Administrators to manage, modify and control backup and restore jobs, media devices, activity logs, alerts, catalogs, product licensing and reports from a single point that spans local and remote servers and locations.
